Q:1 DO I NEED A VISA FOR INDIA?

A: Yes. Check with your local embassy the terms on which you require a visa for your passport. Regardless, for India you must be in possession of a passport that is valid for at least six months after your return dates, with at least 3 blank pages. Do bear in mind that if you wish to travel to Nepal afterward, you will need a separate visa.

Q:2 WHAT VACCINATIONS OR MEDICATIONS MIGHT I NEED?

A: For India no vaccinations are required, as are for many parts of Africa and Asia. However, we advise you to consult your doctor before coming to India and check. We also recommend your tetanus shots are up to date, and please make sure you carry your ample stock of your requisite personal medications.

Q:3 DO I NEED MY OWN HELMET AND BOOTS?

A: We strongly recommend that you come with your own equipment – including your riding helmet, boots, gloves, etc. It will make the ride far more comfortable for you.

Q:4 DO I NEED INSURANCE?

A: Please make sure that you have all your travel insurance arranged before you reach India. Mandawa Safaris will not be liable for any injury, causality or damage to any goods. Riding is fully at rider’s own risk.

Q:5 HOW MUCH CURRENCY SHOULD I CHANGE?

A: The Mandawa Safari part of your trip is fully inclusive. Gratuities are at your discretion and can be paid in British pound sterling, Euros, US dollars or Indian Rupees. Note that Indian customs allow a limited amount of dollar cash is carried into India, please check with your local embassy or travel agent to check for further details. You may want to carry a certain amount of cash for incidentals, including the purchase of souvenirs.
