Mandawa Safari is run by the three sons of the Mandawa family. Shivarjun Singh, Anirudh Singh and Angad Deo began Mandawa Safaris in November 2013. The horse safari was started through sheer love of Marwari horses and to enable people from around the world experience the region on the backs of these majestic horses.

‘Shivarjun is the oldest among the three brothers. He was educated at Mayo College, Ajmer and studied hotel management in Aurangabad. Shivarjun completed his hotel management training at two Taj-owned properties – the Gateway Hotel in Nashik and the Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay. He has also worked with Taj Hotels in Bangalore and New Delhi, as well as in the US – at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Hotel and Spa in Colorado.

Shivarjun specializes in Food and Beverages and is the man behind the fantastic food on the horse safaris! He also looks after the family business operations of The Desert Resort, Mandawa.

Anirudh Singh

Also educated at Mayo College, Ajmer, Anirudh has been a spectacular rider from a young age, winning a number of horse competitions for the school. He is also passionate about cars and has participated in a number of car rallies including The Desert Storm in Rajasthan, and The Great Himalayan Car Rally (now known as The Raid de Himalaya), one of the world’s most dangerous!

Having trained in hotel management with the Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Anirudh began his own business through pitching adventure camps around Rajasthan and other parts of India. Today he also helps with the Mandawa family business and is the leads on the Mandawa Horse Safaris.

Angad Deo

Continuing the family tradition, Angad also attended Mayo College, Ajmer – and also excelled in equine sport, winning particular achievements for horse riding and polo. With a passion for polo, Angad has played on the professional circuit. Before completing his degree in hotel management, Angad worked with the Royal Western Indian Turf Club in Mumbai and Pune, where he was an assistant racing horse trainer under the legendary Magan Singh Jodha.

Post-degree, Angad worked with the Taj hotel group at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai and at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. He too works with the Mandawa family business, and leads the running of the Mandawa Haveli in Jaipur – as well as running Mandawa Safaris with his brothers
